A vaginal hysterectomy is a surgical method to separate the uterus through the vagina. At the time of vaginal hysterectomy, the surgeon removes the uterus from the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and upper vagina, along with the blood vessels and connective tissue that hold it, before removing the uterus.
